The EBoard is responsible for annual appointments for the Board of Directors. This is our army of volunteers stepping forth out of the shadows to support our organization. Our Board of Directors consists of all the positions listed below. We are only as strong as our weakest link. To run a successful program serving over 250 Milford area youth we depend on our volunteers. Consider one of the many positions available and become an active member of Milford Eagles with voting rights* at our monthly board meetings. Assistant Equipment Manager
Responsibilities: support the efforts of the Equipment Manager, learning the ins and outs to ease the transition of becoming Equipment Manager in 2019. Time Commitment: 4-8 hours per week mid-July through November.
Apparel Coordinators
Responsibilities: Design and Order Game Day apparel for the season to be sold at all Home games for football and cheer. Store inventory, set pricing and display items at home games. Coordinate collection and distribution of Team apparel items to participants. Time commitment: March-November and all home game days.
Boyle Scholarship Coordinator
Responsibilities: Call for applicants by communicating with local High School Athletic Directors and College Recruitment Counselors. Assemble a Board of no fewer than 5 members to review applications and vote on winners by end of May. Present winners at June MEPW Board meeting to present checks. Adhere to all federal guidelines for awarding Scholarships within a non-profit 501(c)3. Time commitment: a few hours each month throughout the year with a bulk of time in April-June.
By Laws Committee
Responsibilities: Conduct an annual review of By Laws and support the Board by constructing Amendments and Resolutions to address issues as they arise. Time commitment: a few hours each month throughout the year. Attendance at monthly board meeting.
Flag Football CoordinatorResponsibilities: Request field use for practice and games for Flag Football. Order all uniforms and distribute to participants. Communicate team placement and game schedule to parents. Recruit team coaches and make sure all Volunteers fill out the required form. Order all equipment and first aid items. Order trophies for Championship games, T-shirts for participants and end of year League Celebration. Time commitment: 6-10 hours per week mid-August - end of October.

League Sponsorship Campaign Coordinator
Responsibilities: Map out a strategy to solicit local businesses for sponsorship of our youth athletic program. Determine rewards for different levels of sponsorship creating attractive exposure for their products and service. Responsibilities: Solicit local businesses in person, via email and phone. Make sure all promised rewards are being distributed, including but not limited to: design and order home game day banners, order vinyl stickers for all sponsors to display in business windows, display all banners on home game days, write scripts for game day announcer and order award plaques. Time commitment: a few hours each month, sporadic throughout the year. Solicit for sponsors in April, May, June and July. Order banners in August. Place banners on field in September/October. Order Plaques and other thank you items in January/February. Attendance at monthly board meeting.
League Wide Fundraising Coordinator
Responsibilities: Create and implement (with eBoard approval) a League Wide Fundraiser to include Tackle, Flag and Cheer, i.e. Super Bowl Ticket Raffle, Cow Plop Bingo, Scratch Cards, discount coupon books. Time Commitment: sporadic throughout the year with the bulk of the time commitment around event date. Attendance at monthly board meeting.
League Flocking Coordinator
Responsibilities: Take care of our Flock of yard sign Eagles and coordinate the Flocking program to begin August 1st through mid-September. Generate interest in flocking families, collect payment and coordinate volunteers to move flocks. Time Commitment: July, August and September.
Members at Large
Responsibilities: 5 members that have shown interest in the betterment of the league thru participation with league events and attendance at board meetings.
Nominating Committee Responsibilities: Coordinate nominees for open Executive board positions. Reviews qualifications of nominees and make proposals for voting. Time commitment: a few hours in November and December
Pep Rally Coordinator
Responsibilities: Coordinates the season opening Pep Rally. Determine a date, time and location for season opening Pep Rally (held the Friday or Saturday before the first game of the season in late August or Labor Day weekend.) Prepare itinerary, request/schedule the location, determine and scout out needed equipment (speakers and microphone), invite special guests including Milford Mayor. Anticipate and solicit for votes on any special recognition awards for Volunteer of the year, Team Parent of the year, Sponsor of the year, etc. Time Commitment: August through execution of Pep Rally.
Registration Coordinator
Registration Assistant Coordinator
Responsible for registration of players through Blue Sombrero website. Help determine recommended team placement as per Director of Football/Cheer. Our Committee requests volunteers to assist with the many facets of registration including paperwork drop off events, advertising open registration and following up with parents to collect outstanding balances. Time commitment: March-November.
Team Parents
Responsibilities: Each team needs a parent to assist with paperwork, communication and fundraising. Responsibilities: collect all required paperwork and ready Team Books for Certification on Saturday, August 18th. Send informational emails to team parents, collect money for and help plan team fundraisers, organize and distribute apparel items, collect All-America Applications and return to Scholastics Coordinator, help plan end of season party, attend all games to assist players on the sidelines. Time commitment: a few hours per week mid-July to October or as late as December if teams advance to Regionals or Nationals. Attendance at monthly board meeting.
Scholastics Coordinator
Oversee the Scholastic program for Milford Eagles. Pop Warner requires students to meet a minimum GPA of 70/2.0 to participate, they also reward children who meet high academic standards with the All-American Scholar Award. Responsibilities: Attend a mandatory meeting in May usually at Margaret Egan. Collect report cards in July for all Tackle Football and Cheer participants. Assemble and recruit a small committee of 3-4 people to help count grades and enter into excel files to calculate GPA’s. Return report cards to Head Coaches/Team Parents for Team Books certification Saturday, August 18th. Contact Milford Board of Ed Superintendent for a letter allowing us to calculate standard based report cards on a 3 point scale. Print All-American Scholar applications (about 45) and distribute (usually at Pep Rally) to those who qualify. Collect completed applications from Head Coaches/Team Parents and forward to Southern Connecticut Scholastics Coordinator by deadline in mid-October. Send email to Milford Eagles in February congratulating our All-America Scholar recipients and alerting them to the Regional Scholar Weekend registraton. Time commitment: 6-10 hours a week from mid-July through mid-August. September-October a few hours per week. Attendance at monthly board meeting.
Social Media Coordinator
Social Media Assistant Coordinator
Responsibilities: update MEPW Facebook and Twitter pages with upcoming events throughout the year including Registration, Paperwork drop off days, Equipment Sizing, Game Day information, Team fundraising activities, etc. Create social media campaigns to engage our Eagles family, post pictures from game days and other activities to create a sense of community. Time commitment: a few hours each month throughout the year, more within the season August-November. Regular attendance at monthly board meetings.
Snack Stand Coordinator
Responsibilities: Operates our snack stand through the season for home and hosted playoff games. Purchases inventory for the snack stand, stores and transports items to location for game day. Maintains food service certifications as per Milford Health Department requirements. Directs snack stand volunteers on proper food preparation and serving. Time commitment: 10-12 hours the week of 5 or 6 home/hosted games September-October.
Volunteer Coordinator
Responsibilities: supports the league by recruiting parents to fill open Board Positions. Attendance at monthly board meeting.
Webmaster
Responsibilities: update and maintain the Blue Sombrero website content. Migrate content from Wix.com hosted site. Attend Board meetings to ensure updates are timely. Annual renewal of the domain name (mepwsite.org) through GoDaddy and web hosting fees with Wix.com. Time commitment: a few hours each month throughout the year.
